To find a grand classical home set within its own grounds but also just a short distance from the beach at Javea is a rare thing indeed. This house in Cuesta San Antonio is exactly that, though, a grand house in the traditional style of the stately country home of the greater Valencia region. What’s more, it isn’t located in the heart of the countryside, surrounded by acres and acres of orange groves, but actually resides within the peacefully stylish confines of the most exclusive residential area in Javea.

Every day hundreds of millions of people pound the pavements of the world in their quest to shop, get to work or simply wander about town. According to the brainy team at Pavegen Systems that was somehow equal to an unmissed opportunity, and indeed, unleashing their conceptual and technological skills, the London-based R&D firm have created a system that could very well transform the role of the humble pavement.

If you’re in the market for a villa, the choice is usually between the convenience and comfort of a modern home in the suburbs, or the rustic charm of a country property. A decent villa will always be set upon a sizeable piece of land that offers privacy and a certain degree of tranquillity, but for many who crave the natural sights, sounds and rhythms of the countryside the compromise made to easy access to shops, schools and jobs is a hard price to pay.

A luxury district overflowing with great restaurants, beautiful architecture and stylish shops
Last week’s blog took a quick look at Ensanche’s history and range of stylish shops and boutiques, however a write-up on the district would simply not be complete without a nod to the fine dining restaurants, authentic tapas bars and chic roadside cafés that lace these streets.

A luxury district overflowing with great restaurants, beautiful architecture and stylish shops
Whilst most visitors head to Carmen and the city centre for their shopping fix, or for a meal in one of the central restaurants, well-to-do Valencianos know better than to fall into this tourist trap and head further towards the south-east of the centre to sample and explore some of the city’s finest boutiques and top-rated restaurants in Ensanche. This under-rated and rather over-looked area of Valencia is a beautiful district just below Calle Colón and envelopes the three areas: Ruzafa, El Pla del Remei, and Gran VÃa.
