Siobhan Maguire of The Irish Sunday Times interviewed Rimontgó’s Cristina Martinez with the intention of discovering recent trends among purchasers of New York real estate.

Emphasising the previous popularity of the Big Apple with Irish professionals, especially during the period 2006 to 2007, Cristina noted that the downturn caused by the international credit crisis has now been succeeded by a cautious increase in activity over the past few months.

The past year has been a very successful time for Rimontgó, a situation that was further demonstrated recently when key members of the team travelled to Las Vegas to pick up two prizes at the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World Awards.

The first was a commendation from Luxury Portfolio for Most International New Listings, which recognised the effort that the Rimontgó team had put in to updating their website and their international presence on the Luxury Portfolio website constantly with new properties. In this category the company was competing against 26 others from 17 different countries.

Although he’s already got two world titles under his belt, few victories could have meant more to Spanish F1 ace Fernando Alonso than winning his opening race with Ferrari.

Victory was handed to him at the season’s curtain opener in Bahrain when Sebastian Vettel’s Red Bull Renault developed exhaust problems, but the Ferrari 1-2 that ensued proved two things: firstly, that the Scuderia Ferrari is back where it belongs, and secondly, that Fernando Alonso’s transition to the world’s most famous racing team is starting on a high note.
