The local residents seem to relish soaking up as much sport as possible— well this could also be said of the Spanish in general, as they have many World Champion teams across a broad range of sports to be proud of— but it seems that around every corner in Valencia is an international circuit of some description.

Known as the ‘other great Spaniard’ beside Nadal, David Ferrer has had his share of ups and downs since he first announced his presence at the top of international tennis. Having peaked in 2008 in fourth place in the ATP rankings, the Jávea-born player found himself at the pinnacle of the sport, within sight of stellar names such as Federer and Nadal. It seemed the only way was up for the young Spaniard, but suddenly his form altered drastically and he began to slide back down the table.

An interest group headed by esteemed horseman, Alejandro Barrera, has concluded that the Costa Blanca’s El Verger is the best location for a new equestrian centre that will help to consolidate Spain’s reputation as leading experts in the field.
The venue for the formal presentation was a popular local hotel, where the plans for this ambitious new venture, only eight kilometres from Denia, were unveiled to an audience consisting of members of the local press and other interested parties.
