An interest group headed by esteemed horseman, Alejandro Barrera, has concluded that the Costa Blanca’s El Verger is the best location for a new equestrian centre that will help to consolidate Spain’s reputation as leading experts in the field.

The venue for the formal presentation was a popular local hotel, where the plans for this ambitious new venture, only eight kilometres from Denia, were unveiled to an audience consisting of members of the local press and other interested parties.

The Real club de Golf de Pedreña is unusual in many ways. Firstly, founded in 1928 it is one of the older and more established golf clubs in Spain, but whereas most of the country’s courses are scattered along the Costa del Sol or Costa Blanca, these verdant corridors are situated in the beautiful region of Cantabria, on Spain’s Atlantic north coast.
