In response to the most recent decision by the New York Appellate Court, both BMW Oracle and Switzerland’s Team Alinghi have issued statements confirming that they accept the ruling that Ras Al Khaimah is unsuitable as a venue and that the races will take place in Valencia instead.
Alinghi’s club, Société Nautique de Geneve (SNG), said “Société Nautique de Genève accepts this decision and Alinghi is looking forward to racing for the America’s Cup on the water in Valencia, Spain, in February 2010.”

The drama engulfing next year’s America’s Cup battle between America’s BMW Oracle Racing Team and Switzerland’s Team Alinghi has taken yet another bizarre turn as the New York Supreme Court ruled that the proposed venue, Ras al-Khaimah, is not acceptable.

With players like Rafael Nadal, Tommy Robredo, Fernando Verdasco, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Feliciano López and David Ferrer up for selection, it’s no surprise that Spain won through to the Davis Cup Final. Robredo, Ferrer, López and Ferrero were too much for the Israeli team, managing a famous 4-1 victory.
Rafa Nadal and Fernando Verdasco were both sidelined through injury, but were seen loudly supporting their colleagues from the stands as they battled the Israeli team.

With Schumacher out and Alonso back in most of us didn’t know quite what to expect from the European Grand Prix held in Valencia on 23 August, but in the end the race certainly did live up to its billing. A McLaren one-two on the starting grid didn’t promise much excitement, and in the beginning it seemed to go that way, as Lewis Hamilton charged off into the distance while his team-mate Heikki Kovalainen held up the rest.
