For the super-wealthy of London it is still important to be seen at all the top restaurants. Darling, if one cannot afford to dine at Nobu or secure the best table at The Ivy then one might as well leave town and live off pork scratchings.
However, this ‘all or nothing’ philosophy will soon be a thing of the past with the opening of The Mount Street Deli, an establishment that offers a discerning clientele a wide choice of the finest foods. Apart from the attractions of such delicacies as Ventresca tuna belly, high mountain honey and black pig salami, the enterprising talents behind this new venture offer a unique selling point that sets it apart from the rest.
Despite its distinctly upmarket setting in London’s swanky Mayfair, The Mount Street Deli stocks some extremely desirable – yet affordable – items, such as Mark’s Club’s legendary Scotch eggs and pizza from Harry’s Bar. As an enticement to the sweet-toothed chocoholic, the availability of the famous chocolate cake from Annabel’s.

The Mount Street Deli has a full takeaway service, but prospective customers will be pleased to learn that the deli is also open for breakfasts and lunches. The breakfast menu includes such delights as pain au chocolate, bagels with lox and cream cheese and freshly made pancakes. Arrive after 11:30 and you can experience mortadella, pancetta, salami and Harry’s Bar Grissini Plate with chutney.
Mayfair’s shop and office workers will be able to pop in and pick up a sandwich, while the deli can undertake orders with 48 hours notice. A wide range of hampers make the perfect treat for an evening in; we particularly like the sound of the Take Me Home, which includes champagne and prosecco, organic smoked salmon, caviar, foie gras, savoury biscuits, cheese and chutney and some particularly tempting chocolates.
The thought of a quiet night at home will never be the same again!
