For a while it seemed that both the Spanish Grand Prix, held at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, and the European Grand Prix raced through the streets of Valencia were in danger. Stringent budget cuts in the face of the financial crisis put both races in jeopardy, so it was good news when a compromise was reached that will see Barcelona and Valencia host the Spanish Grand Prix in alternating years.

This town has many attractions: a yacht club, sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and a picturesque fishing harbour. However, without a doubt, the most appealing attraction is its breathtaking rocky peninsula located on the Mediterranean coastline facing the Balearic Islands. Connected to land by an isthmus, the Ifach Rock or Peñón de Ifach in Castilian, is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Natural Park.

This fine car, widely regarded as one of the best in production, was the Hispano Suiza. From its workshops in Barcelona, this make made elegant limousines and open-topped touring cars of great luxury and exquisite finishing, whilst also producing some of the world’s earliest sports cars.
