As an acknowledgement of a successful story started by Engineer Prof. Ferdinand Porsche (1875 – 1951), whose life was devoted to automotive industry, Porsche opened last 31st January its new museum. For this project, being worth 100 Million Euros, Porsche has chosen Stuttgart, Germany, the city where the company is based.
Located in one of the greatest and most fascinating buildings dedicated to the history of car producers, the museum will exhibit cars with a century of history and it is expected to receive over 200,000 visitors each year.
Over 80 exclusive models can be admired along the 5,600 square metres of this museum, a project executed by the Viennese architects Delugan Meissl and conceived as a dynamic space where the gravity concept is reinvented and new architectural bases are set.
The Museum opening coincides with Porsche‘s 60th anniversary, after a new chapter in automotive engineering started to be written on 8th June 1948
Ferdinand’s son and successor, Ferdinand ‘Ferry’ Porsche, made his dream come true with the legendary prototype 356, known as ‘Porsche Number 1′. At that time no one would have ever predicted such a success during decades for Porsche, reaching with the 911 Series its highest acknowledgement.
