When visiting the Eternal City it’s worth doing it in style and you couldn’t find a bolthole much more stylish than the Rome Cavalieri. Formerly known as the Rome Cavalieri Hilton, it is now part of the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Collection™.
Situated just a short drive from the Vatican, Rome’s premier attractions and the city centre, the Rome Cavalieri is the perfect home-from-home, with 370 guest rooms and suites providing the last word in individual style and comfort.
One of the high points of this exclusive establishment, which features paintings by artists of the calibre of Giambattista Tiepolo and Giuseppe Zais as part of its décor, is the Penthouse Suite. Situated on the Executive Floor, this duplex suite is less a hotel room, more a private apartment.
With 250m2 of interior space and a 200m2 panoramic roof garden, you won’t be short of places to explore. The Penthouse Suite is the perfect place for people with a style fetish; the rooms are decorated with an intriguing mixture of ancient and modern. These rooms also feature some original artworks by Andy Warhol and armchairs, sofas and pouffes that once furnished Karl Lagerfeld’s Paris apartment and were acquired via a Sotheby’s auction. A one-off designed by monsieur Lagerfeld himself, the ensemble is so massive that it had to be removed from his rooms by crane.

Apart from being a feast for the eyes, this superior suite is also a treat for the senses, with a marble-panelled bathroom decorated with malachite inlay and Swarkovski crystal taps. A scald-proof power shower is enhanced still further with the inclusion of a tropical mist aromatherapy feature.
The suite is equipped with all the latest hi-tech entertainment features, including massive plasma TVs in the living area and master bedroom, DVD player, Home-Theatre system with Dolby Surround and the ultimate in comfort courtesy of a multi-massage chair.
Guests will have access to a private gym, but perhaps the Penthouse Suite’s most stunning feature is the whirlpool. Set on a raised plinth and topped by fibre optic lights set in the ceiling, this most luxurious of spa baths permits guests to enjoy the beautiful sight of St. Peter’s dome while bathing.
