Spirit of Valencia Powerboat Racing

The first European city to host the America’s Cup, Valencia has a long association with sailing and is home to the largest port in the Western Mediterranean. This proud tradition, beginning with stately vessels built for longevity and reliability and culminating with the beautiful and intricately engineered yachts that competed for the America’s Cup, is about to enter a new era.

The selection of a crew to represent the Valencia Offshore Powerboat Racing Team at the 2010 Formula 4-Stroke Powerboat Race world championships has now started. The team, which was unable to compete during 2009 due to a lack of sponsorship, is offering prospective sponsors the opportunity to become involved in this rigorous procedure.

The need for speed
The search for 2010’s Spanish team will be an exciting process, with prospective crews being offered a “Golden Ticket” opportunity to be considered. Sponsors will be afforded maximum publicity for their business or product via a range of high-profile competitions and promotions.

Valencia Yacht Base will provide storage facilities for the team’s boat and equipment and will also offer visiting groups VIP Corporate Hospitality, while La Marina Real will allow the team a world class facility from which to train and test.

Talks are also ongoing with Pleamar and Valmor. It is hoped that Formula 1 VIPs will be offered an exclusive power-boating experience from the T dock of the America’s Cup Port, which is situated behind the F1 Team bases. The media building is located directly behind the T dock and will provide the team with an excellent chance to launch their new boat branding design.
