It is said that a diamond is forever. This proverb is the source of inspiration for more and more designers with a commitment to the combination of daily technological products and luxury and wealth.
iDiamond, the iPod version with more than 430 diamonds and 18-karat gold, is the latest and unique immortal masterpiece in the Technology World. Conceived by the Norwegian designer Thomas Hayerdahl, it has been recently auctioned in a fundraising dinner celebrated in London. After having paid 20,000 pounds, a British businessman who wishes to remain anonymous is the new owner of the most luxurious MP3 in the World.

With an approximate weight of 60 grams and the usage of materials with a cost of more than 26,000 Euro, iDiamond joins the exclusive list of technological masterpieces, together with iPhone, being gold and diamond-platted, or Macbook pro, a laptop with a 24-karat coating and the Apple logo in diamonds.
But not only Apple has decided to follow this trend. Many manufacturers have customized their most sophisticated designs with the lent exclusivity of diamonds. Nokia launches just for few fortunate customers a limited edition with 25 cell phones model N95 designed according each client’s wishes, not only the colour of its 658 diamonds -white, pink, black or blue-, but also the choice of the material, classical gold or white gold. Motorola and Blackberry did not get left behind and have launched new customized designs with gold and diamonds.
