Views of Valencia

As anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of the city and its surrounding areas knows, Valencia wears its beauty well. Like a classic movie star whose appearance is eternally youthful, Valencia offers the right perspective from the right property, whether it’s next door to a magnificent Rococo palace or close to innovative and inspirational ultra-modern buildings.

One of the city’s most pleasing characteristics is its varied landscape; the busy port area, the beautiful new Marina Real Juan Carlos I, which has played host to the America’s Cup and the brilliantly re-imagined leisure area now occupying the space where the Rio Turia used to run, which can also be viewed from the city centre.

In recent years Valencia has been the focus of international attention due to its Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias. This imaginative complex is a tribute to the creative powers of the human mind and, in particular, one of Spain’s most famous architects, Santiago Calatrava. These extraordinary creations have received a significant amount of international attention and have been responsible – at least in part – for a marked increase in the number of visitors flocking to Valencia in recent years.

Of course, it’s not only lovers of fine architecture who are attracted by this grand old city’s many charms. For the past couple of years the European Grand Prix has been held here on a street circuit that now forms an integral part of the Formula One calendar. The port and marina lend the event a magnificent backdrop for spectators to enjoy even when the cars are out of sight!

Valencia’s trump card is its coastal location; travel a very short distance from the city centre and you will find plenty of beaches to enjoy. Owning a property in one of the seaside areas nearby is a particularly pleasant way to gain the maximum benefit from living so close to a major centre. Yet just a short drive will take you to your peaceful seaside apartment or house.

Whether you prefer to be in the centre of the action or are happier in a quieter location, Valencia offers the right perspective.
