Next Thursday 26 September, the main contemporary art galleries in Valencia are set to launch together the artistic season with an open day, organized by the ‘Asociación de Galerías de Arte Contemporáneo’ of the Valencian Community, known as LaVAC. This association of contemporary art galleries will combine in one event the work of more than thirty national and international artists.
Entitled ‘Abierto Valencia’, meaning ‘Open Valencia’, this artistic concept will encompass a wide range of alternative activities such as conferences and concerts, with participating galleries remaining open through to 10pm. Special discounts for one day only are also available for buyers, as well as the possibility to enjoy a guided visit.
Following the various gallery openings, the day will end in the cloisters of the Centro del Carmen, the old convent which is now a museum, where a celebration will be held to honour the first awards ceremony of ‘Abierto Valencia’. This innovative event related to contemporary art will also extend to various participating galleries in Alicante, Jávea and Castellón.
