On 7th June the ceremony for ADCV Awards 2017 was held in the Rialto building in Valencia. These prizes are given out by the Designers Association from the Valencian Community (ADCV) and they receive the best proposals throughout the graphic and product design fields, amongst many other categories.

For the first time in the history of these awards, they have recognised the career path of a designer. In this occasion, the prize fell back to the designer and visual artist Pepe Gimeno, veteran and prestigious professional, whose studies have emerged in brands and graphic hall-marks, such as the Valencian Parliament (Corts Valencianes), Municipal Transport Company (EMT) for Valencia or the Spanish presidency in the European Union. Another new prize has been dedicated to institutions distinguished for their role in promoting design. In this case, the awarded institution was the Valencian Museum of Illustration and Modernism (Museo Valenciano de la Ilustracion y la Modernidad, MuVIM).

Amongst over forty prizes awarded, other categories are also included such as ephemeral space design and new communication media. However, out of these prizes two names stand out from the others: designer Ibán Ramón, in charge of the graphic communication for Fallas 2017, and the Lavernia&Cienfuegos studio, made up of the veteran designers such as Nacho Lavernia, along with Alberto Cienfuegos. The ceremony highlighted the magnificent design moments in the Valencian Community, its value in the economic and industrial sector, as well as its contribution to the success of the launched proposals made from businesses and institutions.
