The swimming pool of Las Arenas was an excursion place for many families who would spend all day there swimming and eating. The Las Arenas swimming pool, which closed its doors at the beginning of the eighties, used to be situated, where today rises one of Valencia’s grand luxury hotels, the hotel Las Arenas. Regardless, it stayed in the memories of many different generations of Valencians, who once enjoyed one of the most popular recreational spaces of Valencia.

The Valencian company Mariner, specialised in handcrafted luxury furniture and lighting, has been selected as winning company in the fourth round of a pioneer project, sponsored by the Valencia CF. Aim of the project is to give international visibility to distinct SMEs of the Valencian Community. Winning this competition means a great deal of support for Mariner, giving its international profile an important boost.
The future of the Valencia CF, the most important sporting institution of the Valencian Community, and without a doubt, one of the most renowned all around Spain, owing to the large number of fans it has come by over the years, will be written from Singapore, starting June 2014. Reason being no other than the arrival of multimillionaire Peter Lim in Valencia. Lim is the new owner of the club, after an agreement with the Fundación Valencia CF, trust of the club, and Bankia, the entity with which the Valencia CF still has a huge debt.
From 23 to 25 May, the Festival del Mar (Sea festival) will take place for the third time at the port of Javea, Alicante. It is organised by the Asociación de Comerciantes y Empresarios de Aduanas del Mar (ACEAM) (Teulada-Moraira Association of Businessmen and Traders), in collaboration with the Yacht Club of Javea and the town council of this city on the Costa Blanca.
The motorcycle racer Nico Terol, born in Alcoy, will once again represent the Costa Blanca at Grand Prix’s taking place around Spain. This way, and thanks to the renewal of the ‘Nico Terol Race by Costa Blanca’ campaign, the Provincial Council of Tourism will have an information stand at all the circuits of the different races on the national championship calendar, in order to give people more information about the municipalities that make up the coastal area of the Valencian Community.
