Last Friday 29 November, the premiere of ‘The Counselor’ took place in Spain, the latest film by Ridley Scott who also directed other blockbusters including ‘The Duellists’, ‘Alien’ and ‘Blade Runner’. Based on the original screenplay ‘No Country for Old Men’ written by famous American author Cormac McCarthy, the film narrates the progressive downfall of the protagonist played by Michael Fassbender, a lawyer involved in dealings with drug cartels operating on the border of the United States and Mexico, causing him to strike up an amicable business alliance with the shifty characters of drug trafficker Reiner (Javier Bardem) and his business associate Westray (Brad Pitt). The film’s female roles are played by Cameron Diaz and Spanish actress Penélope Cruz, who is the real-life partner of Javier Bardem.
One of the film’s main scenes, in which an extravagant party is held at a luxury villa, was filmed in the Spanish province of Alicante. Located close to the towns of Jávea and Dénia, this magnificent designer villa boasts a privileged, elevated position on a plot of 12,000m2 and enjoys unrivalled views of the Mediterranean Sea. With nine en suite bedrooms and an intelligent layout designed to maximise the 2,000m2 of interior space, the villa provides every comfort imaginable for a luxurious lifestyle, including an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a Turkish bath, a home automation system, a private lift, a wine cellar and a home cinema. The outdoors are equally as impressive, with a unique roof featuring a Zen garden which is afforded with exceptional views, an infinity swimming pool, a Jacuzzi and beautifully landscaped gardens.
