The furniture sector has for many decades, with a few ups and downs inherent in any industrial sector, had great importance among companies of the Valencian Community. Thus, it comes as no surprise that Valencia also is one of Spain’s leading cities in interior design. The activities of its Colegio de Diseñadores de Interior de la Comunidad Valenciana (Association of Interior Designers of the Autonomous Community of Valencia), enjoy wide international recognition and bring together a great number of interior designers. Naturally, you can find some of Spain’s best interior design companies in Valencia. In all cases, these companies boast a long history in relation to some of the most outstanding and prestigious figures from the world of interior design.

Mobisa-Martínez Medina
Situated in the heart of Valecnia, on the so called Golden Mile of the city, this historic shop by the designer and entrepreneur José Martínez-Medina, is one of the big names in Valencia’s history of interior design and production. The Marqués de Dos Aguas store, situated only a few metres from the Calle de la Paz, used to be a meeting point for distinguished artists such as Joaquín Michavila, Anzo, Iturralde and Manolo Valdés a few decades ago. The family business today also includes furniture production for both residential as well as public and commercial spaces. Among its furnishing projects the commercial spaces of Telefónica and Banca March are particularly impressive. Brands offered in this store include De Padova, Flexform, Jmm and Poliform.

Vicente Navarro
Without doubt, one of the major interior design companies in Valencia. Established in 1980, the design studio has realised such emblematic projects as the interior design of Valencia’s Palau de la Música and the Cortes Valencianas (main representative body of the Valencian Community). Navarro was the herald of introducing grand Italian design in Valencia. In his open showroom in Valencia’s El Ensanche district, situated on the Calle Cirilo Amorós, first class brands such as B&B Italia, Cassina, Molteni and Minotti continue to have an important presence. One of his latest projects, the Plaza América residential building, which is only a few metres away from his studio, is one of the best examples of contemporary high quality diaphanous construction in Valencia.

Cosín
Pepe Cosín has since 1985 undoubtedly been another reference point for Valencia’s interior design sector. From his two stores, situated on the Calle Hernán Cortés in Valencia, and the more recent one, a studio focused on projects and occasional temporary exhibitions in the Ruzafa neighbourhood, he realised projects for residential and commercial spaces. Internationally renowned brands that feature in his projects include Zanotta, Porro, MDF Italia and Sancal.
